LNG Canada #Stage 4 – Modules in place: ready to power the heart of the tank reservoir /

After lifting the 1,540-ton roof dome, the LNG Canada project reached another key logistical and technical milestone: the installation of the process modules designed to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous LNG storage and sending-out operations. A total of 9 fully pre-assembled units, with unit weights ranking from 100 to 390 tons, have been lifted and set up within millimetric tolerances, 59 meters above ground, on top of the tank. A very high-capacity crane of 1350 metric ton, totalizing 72 trucks for its transportation, was mobilized specifically for these precision lifts, on a site with limited access.

The safe and smooth installation of these complex structures demonstrated the engagement and expertise of our work crews and front-line supervisors, strengthened by our leading safety culture.

📍Highly technical lifting operations

The modules were installed on the roof of the tank with:

Strict adherence to life-critical safety processes and to pre-task risk assessments

Meticulous coordination between the logistics, lifting, and mechanical teams

Lifting systems designed for the extreme winter conditions

Precision execution in a constrained environment

📍A key milestone before the installation of the cryogenic pumps

This essential step prepares for the installation of the in-tank pumps that will enable LNG to flow safely and efficiently.

📢 Next step: suspended deck erection and insulation – a key operation to ensure the tank’s thermal performance.
