To build the largest cryogenic LNG tank in North America, in a high-seismicity zone, Entrepose Contracting and VINCI Construction Grands Projets had to design a truly unprecedented foundation system.<\/p>\n

Our challenge? <\/strong>To ensure the long-term stability of a 225,000 m\u00b3 capacity structure, weighing several thousand tons, while safeguarding its integrity throughout its entire operational life cycle.<\/p>\n

Our solution? <\/strong>A dense grid of close-ended driven steel pile inclusions, not connected to the tank slab.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udd0d These piles act as rigid inclusions<\/strong>, providing:
\n\u2705 Enhanced bearing capacity
\n\u2705 Liquefaction resistance
\n\u2705 Control over differential settlements \u2014 the most critical factor in preserving the structural integrity of such a tank over time<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcc8 Field data confirmed the efficiency of this foundation system, designed specifically for this project\u2019s geotechnical context. <\/p>\n
