🔒 LNG Canada – Tank closed and ready for interting
Following the acceptance of the hydrostatic and pneumatic tests, the LNG Canada project reached a key milestone: the closure of the tank and inerting with nitrogen.
This sequence marks the end of heavy work on the tank and the transition to the commissioning phase.
🧰 Closure and preparation for operation
• Final closure of tank manholes after final inspections
• Launch of the first drying and purging sequences
• Gradual transition from construction mode to operation/commissioning mode
💨 660,000 m³ of nitrogen injected for a perfectly controlled environment
To ensure a dry and inert environment, the teams carried out a large-scale drying and purging campaign:
• Approximately 660,000 m³ of nitrogen injected into the enclosure
• A very low dew point and oxygen content, in accordance with the project’s technical requirements
• Use of high-performance membrane units
• 24-hour operation and real-time monitoring in harsh conditions
🛡️ A perfectly coordinated transition from construction to commissioning
This sensitive stage mobilised the construction, commissioning, HSE and operations teams around a single objective: to deliver a tank ready to enter the cooling phase, under optimal safety condition
📢 Next step: cooling down the tank, then filling it with LNG.
